They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael de Andrade in the 52nd minute of play forced Vira Lata F.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Paulo Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Paulo Tinoco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edinho Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Vira Lata F.C.'s Aloísio Pirani got a free kick in the 55th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo Tinoco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Magno Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Zé Paulo Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lenílson Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Aloísio Pirani sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Quirino got free with Lenílson Azevedo in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. BAYER LEVERKUSEN's Lenílson Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Perez in the 79th minute of play. Lenílson Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Vira Lata F.C. booed when BAYER LEVERKUSEN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. BAYER LEVERKUSEN's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
