With a little luck, Orico's Alexandre Cordeiro got control of the ball when Elói Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vila Rural EC's Edson Meira got a free kick in the 20th minute. Joaquim Botelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Cordeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Teodoro Mandrak made the kick off in the second half. In the 89th minute, Teodoro Mandrak fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Orico's Alexandre Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Botelho in the 93rd minute of play. If Elói Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Vila Rural EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Orico's performance. The match ended with a win for Orico.
