Muri EC's Erasmo Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Lopez in the 27th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Lauro Hermes put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 31 minutes, Canuma FC's Orlando Sampaio got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Erasmo Pimenta. In the 34th minute, Alex Varela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilson Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Orlando Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Canuma FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho Macedo came free, but Orlando Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kléber Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Félix in the 42nd minute of play forced Muri EC's goalkeeper Erasmo Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nilson Prata to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Canuma FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Nuno Soeiro hit a great ball. Erasmo Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 59th match minute, Muri EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Erasmo Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Lopez in the 61st minute of play. Erasmo Pimenta came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Canuma FC's Ronaldo Borges. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Bruno Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Zonta having to interfere. Alex Varela scored 4-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orlando Zonta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 76 played minutes Canuma FC got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Félix. With a little luck, Canuma FC's Orlando Zonta got control of the ball when Armandinho Macedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Nilson Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 82 minutes, Alex Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muri EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Orlando Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Armandinho Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Zonta having to interfere. Muri EC's Charles Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ediberto Félix fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canuma FC's protests and gave Ediberto Félix a yellow card for diving instead. Ediberto Félix hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Orlando Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. If Charles Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Canuma FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Muri EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
