Enio da Silveira started the match with the kick off. Kléber Lopez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rodolfo Catarinense came out and tried to block the shot, but Kléber Lopez slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. In the 11thth minute of the game Enio da Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canuma FC's Orlando Zonta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nitero fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! 2-0 came through a penalty shot after 16 played minutes, when Canuma FC:s Orlando Sampaio calmly waited for Nitero:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Rodolfo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Lopez in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Tales Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlando Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Nitero booed when Canuma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. If Enio da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enio da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Orlando Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Canuma FC got a freekick which was hit by Ediberto Félix. In the 46th minute of the match Fabrício Paiva sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orlando Zonta skillfully saved the ball. 48 minutes into the game, José Maria Soeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Orlando Zonta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kléber Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Enio da Silveira had several of the Canuma FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 55 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Orlando Zonta as he didn't even see the shot coming. José Maria Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Zonta having to interfere. Ediberto Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the game, Benjamim dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nitero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canuma FC the free kick. After 61 played minutes Nitero got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim dos Santos. If Enio da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Nitero booed when Canuma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Ediberto Félix hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Baltazar Tróia's late challenge caught a Nitero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltazar Tróia helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Canuma FC's Baltazar Tróia got a free kick in the 75th minute. Ediberto Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Fabrício Paiva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Orlando Zonta. Canuma FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Canuma FC's Ronaldo Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, José Maria Soeiro made a precise shot to the right of Orlando Zonta. Canuma FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. José Maria Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Nitero supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nitero would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
