Paulão Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Madureira in the 15th minute of the match. Nestor Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nestor Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee showed Pedro das Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With splendid footwork Nestor Madureira arrived in front of goal to shoot 3-1 by the left pole in the game's 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. Duda Toscano made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Arí de Sena sent off a good shot on target. If Nestor Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The Gremio FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sapopema had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
