Patrick Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Jean Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Baptista in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean Penha saved STARK EC from getting behind. Germano Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Ronaldão Fantini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Ramalho, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Mateus Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. STARK EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateus Bezerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Paraibano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Germano Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferroviário RO's Zé Paraibano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateus Bezerra in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Ferroviário RO's Patrick Baptista dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. A hard shot by Paulo José Jacinto from long distance, 42 minutes into the match, got Jean Penha's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Zé Paraibano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mateus Bezerra's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Zé Paraibano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germano Arce in the 56th minute. Zé Paraibano made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Germano Arce sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, STARK EC's Mateus Bezerra got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind STARK EC's goalkeeper Jean Penha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cláudio Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes STARK EC got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Vides. 73 minutes into the match, Ferroviário RO's Anísio Galvão broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to STARK EC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Eriberto Ferraz hit a great ball. After 76 minutes, Nilmar Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STARK EC and the Ferroviário RO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Narciso Schmidt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jean Penha having to make a save. Breno Cardoso's late challenge caught a Ferroviário RO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Breno Cardoso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to STARK EC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Breno Cardoso hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Narciso Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
