The supporters of Locomotives booed when Mengo Noite SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute Luizão Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luizão Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chicão Capixaba made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Vitório Gerber sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Brodel in the 24th minute of play forced Mengo Noite SC's goalkeeper Joaquim Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mengo Noite SC's goalkeeper Joaquim Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luizão Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Joaquim Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Amorim in the 42nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frederico Vinhas during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Locomotives was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 48 minutes, Vitório Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mengo Noite SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitório Gerber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

After a defensive mix-up in Locomotives's zone, Vitório Gerber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Capixaba came out of the goal and Vitório Gerber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitório Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Capixaba having to interfere. Nando Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Vitório Gerber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th match minute, Mengo Noite SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute of the match Leandro Mattos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquim Pinho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Francisco Brodel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78thth minute of the game Gilmar Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Locomotives's Chicão Capixaba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luizão Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joaquim Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Francisco Brodel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 87 minutes, Ediberto Paranaense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mengo Noite SC and the Locomotives players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ediberto Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Francisco Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Locomotives's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilmar Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Capixaba having to interfere. Vitório Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Capixaba having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
