Váldson Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Abel Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Bahia's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nando Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the game, David da Mata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolivia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Bahia the free kick. 12 minutes into the game, one of Bolivia FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Telmo Guimarães walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. David Lain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson Britto in the 24th minute of the match. Abel Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nando Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Lain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hortêncio Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Lain having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Bolivia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Britto to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abel Amaral to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, David da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 54 minutes, Abel Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EC Bahia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuri de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Váldson Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Lain having to interfere. Váldson Britto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Lain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 88th minute, but David Lain got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving EC Bahia hanging dry this time. When the referee ended the match the EC Bahia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
