Spectators: 7202 (Terracing: 5403, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Pontal's Bruninho Pitta started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Adelino Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Anji Makhachkala's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilson Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Adelino Matorin came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the FC Anji Makhachkala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Matorin couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd match minute, FC Anji Makhachkala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Bruninho Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Murillo Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murillo Monteiro came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Pontal's Luís Gustavo Bezerra. But to his dismay, Luís Gustavo Bezerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Remo de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Gilson Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Matorin in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, FC Anji Makhachkala's Adelino Matorin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gilson Perez. Gilson Perez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Gilson Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bruninho Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Adelino Matorin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilson Perez was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adelino Matorin to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Adelino Matorin sped through Pontal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilson Perez. Bruninho Pitta's late challenge caught a FC Anji Makhachkala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruninho Pitta helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Anji Makhachkala booed when Pontal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adelino Matorin struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Gilson Perez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Anji Makhachkala. In the 68th minute, Marcelo Oliveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Murillo Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Bruninho Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Pitta in the 80th minute of play forced FC Anji Makhachkala's goalkeeper Murillo Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murillo Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruninho Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Anji Makhachkala were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Pontal to leave the ground with a draw.
