In the 10thth minute of the game Serginho Sá who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GRÊMIO MAUAENSE's Luís Fernando de Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mito Mazard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Serginho Sá's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Fernando de Lima was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 17th match minute, GRÊMIO MAUAENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Varela to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Guarimanzal's Mito Mazard nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Fernando de Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. GRÊMIO MAUAENSE's Luís Fernando de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mito Mazard in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes GRÊMIO MAUAENSE got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Pires. After a defensive mix-up in GRÊMIO MAUAENSE's zone, Serginho Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fernando de Lima came out of the goal and Serginho Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Fernando de Lima didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mito Mazard went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Luís Fernando de Lima came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Guarimanzal's Serginho Sá. But to his dismay, Serginho Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorian Cruz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luís Fernando de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Serginho Sá came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Guarimanzal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serginho Sá couldn't finish the play. Luís Fernando de Lima was a little too slow when Serginho Sá got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-6. Mito Mazard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Luís Fernando de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorian Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind GRÊMIO MAUAENSE's goalkeeper Luís Fernando de Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 78 minutes of play, Guarimanzal's Mito Mazard made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Fernando de Lima was left in no man's land by his defense there! Serginho Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Luís Fernando de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Guarimanzal's zone, Dorian Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliseu Leme came out of the goal and Dorian Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd match minute, GRÊMIO MAUAENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Varela to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fernando de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serginho Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 99th match minute, GRÊMIO MAUAENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Neto to maneuver through the defense. The GRÊMIO MAUAENSE fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Guarimanzal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
