Orlando Linares came out of the goal and Franklin de Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 25 played minutes PALESTRINHA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Fred Costa. A collision led to Esporte Clube Vitória 189 getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Egídio Alves hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, PALESTRINHA F.C's Rodrigo Pinheiro tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 32nd match minute, Esporte Clube Vitória 189 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Penha to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Pinheiro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Zé Roberto Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Linares having to interfere. Rodrigo Pinheiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Orlando Linares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodrigo Pinheiro ran back to his position shaking his head. When Paulo Penha fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esporte Clube Vitória 189's protests and gave Paulo Penha a yellow card for diving instead. Rodrigo Pinheiro placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
