Buique's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 24 minutes, Edmundo Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fábio Sá came out of the goal and Edmundo Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fábio Sá didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 38th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. In the 43rd minute, Renan Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Buique's Renan Veloso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fábio Sá. Fábio Sá yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
Valdo Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Vander in the 57th minute of the match. Aníbal Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Fábio Sá was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
