With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adriano de Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Acácio Lima was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Marcelinho Ortiz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcelinho Ortiz really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Imbozal EC's Dé da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dé da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Adriano de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Nóbrega in the 48th minute of play forced Ibicua AD's goalkeeper Adriano de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Ortiz was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Imbozal EC booed when Ibicua AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Almir Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleiton Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Dé da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 96 played minutes Ibicua AD got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Paraíba. The Ibicua AD support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
