After some careless play in the São Paulo F.C defense, Doriva de Senna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luciano Sampaio. The São Paulo F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luciano Sampaio should have stopped the shot. Doriva de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Luciano Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 69th minute of the match Dorival Sampaio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dorival Sampaio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Dorival Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Juan de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan de Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Sarmento helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, São Paulo F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Sarmento to maneuver through the defense.
