Douglas Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Ibicua AD's goal looked a bit too open when Eurico Ferreira came free, but Adriano de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute, Osvaldo Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ibicua AD's zone, Eurico Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriano de Medeiros came out of the goal and Eurico Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eurico Ferreira fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pureza's protests and gave Eurico Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. Eurico Ferreira hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ibicua AD's Marcelinho Ortiz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Reis. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Marcelinho Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Reis having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Ortiz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlos Reis, 2-0. Pureza's Carlos Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Ortiz in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Ortiz in the 33rd minute of play forced Pureza's goalkeeper Carlos Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marcelinho Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eurico Ferreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adriano de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Ferreira in the 53rd minute of play. Edinho Pena hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Pureza's Carlos Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Ortiz in the 62nd minute of play. Marcelinho Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelinho Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo Melo during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Osvaldo Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eurico Ferreira in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adriano de Medeiros saved Ibicua AD from getting behind. Geovani Moreno struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Adriano de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pureza. Osvaldo Melo was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 75th match minute, Ibicua AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Melo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Ferreira in the 76th minute of play forced Ibicua AD's goalkeeper Adriano de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Geovani Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augusto Bueno struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Carlos Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibicua AD. When Augusto Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ibicua AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Bueno couldn't finish the play. Carlos Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Bueno in the 98th minute of the match. Ibicua AD's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
