If Tales Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SÂO BERNArDO FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Délio Valladares hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Carlinhos Corrêa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SÂO BERNArDO FC's Jean Bezerra didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in SÂO BERNArDO FC's zone, Tales Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Bezerra came out of the goal and Tales Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rômulo Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luiz Paulo Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Bezerra having to interfere. In the 57th minute Luiz Paulo Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Figueiredo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rômulo Marinho's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Cléberson Leal charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléberson Leal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tales Cabral couldn't finish the play. Jean Bezerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romário de Barros's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. SÂO BERNArDO FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
