With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arí Peres in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Agne Brogren saved AMERICA from getting behind. Chicão Alvarenga made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Noel Mota sent off a good shot on target. Thayus Clube de Futebol's Chicão Alvarenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Thayus Clube de Futebol from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Dudu Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agne Brogren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arí Peres's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 41st minute, Noel Mota ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chicão Alvarenga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 44 minutes, Branimir Gošljević mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AMERICA and the Thayus Clube de Futebol players grew even worse after the yellow card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Noel Mota made the kick off in the second half. Hílton Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Noel Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. AMERICA's supporters rose to their feet, but Noel Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thayus Clube de Futebol's Chicão Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 宋迪潮 in the 64th minute of play. Agne Brogren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Chicão Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Trevisan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Noel Mota charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noel Mota the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Noel Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Branimir Gošljević got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground.
