Lauro Ramos struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Paulo Renato de Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibicaba. Dinei Bittencourt charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinei Bittencourt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Renato de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Caricaca getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Claudinho Ferraz hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Caricaca's Zé Neiva threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Augusto Varela, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Andreas Käller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Augusto Varela came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Caricaca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Varela couldn't finish the play.

The wind increased when Augusto Varela made the kick off in the second half. Zé Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinei Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Augusto Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Diguinho Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibicaba's goalkeeper Zé Neiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Fausto Mota came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Ibicaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Mota couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Mota during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ibicaba getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Fausto Mota hit a great ball. After 91 played minutes Caricaca got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Ferraz. Paulo Renato de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Teixeira in the 92nd minute of play. Lauro Ramos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute Fausto Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Although Caricaca had been in control for most of the match, Ibicaba still came away with the win.
