The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes 7th Heavens got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Vidal. Virgílio Sampaio hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Narciso de Alcântara succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. If Gláuber Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sérgio Trigo in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celsinho Magalhães saved 7th Heavens from getting behind. In the 24th match minute, 7th Heavens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Sá to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Saturno's João Francisco de Amaral broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Elano Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. José Augusto Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Saturno's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Jacinto came free, but José Augusto Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute Gláuber Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7th Heavens's Elano Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gláuber Veloso made a kick off. Sérgio Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Magalhães having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Trigo got free with Celsinho Magalhães in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Renato Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Sérgio Trigo could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Celsinho Magalhães however easily saved by the left post. In the 62nd minute of the match Baltazar Vides shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the 7th Heavens defense, Chicão Freire kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celsinho Magalhães. The 7th Heavens fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celsinho Magalhães should have stopped the shot. 72 minutes into the match, Saturno's Gláuber Veloso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celsinho Magalhães narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 7th Heavens's Celsinho Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save 7th Heavens from getting a goal against them. Gláuber Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Celsinho Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celsinho Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, 7th Heavens's Renato Sá got a free kick in the 79th minute. When Sérgio Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Saturno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sérgio Trigo couldn't finish the play. When Saturno's Gláuber Veloso in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye 7th Heavens's goalie prevented a goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind 7th Heavens's goalkeeper Celsinho Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 93 minutes, Elano Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 7th Heavens's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elano Jacinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Trigo got free with Celsinho Magalhães in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Augusto Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Jacinto in the 97th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Saturno eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
