Barbudovski booed when Saturno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percival Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre de Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Augusto Castro. Saturno's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Gláuber Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Sérgio Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luís Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Trigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Guilherme Godoi made a huge save. When Válbson Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E. Barbudovski's protests and gave Válbson Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd minute, Válbson Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 68th minute of the match Tadeu Sabóia completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tadeu Sabóia a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to S.E. Saturno's Gláuber Veloso got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guilherme Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Trigo in the 87th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Gláuber Veloso managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 90 minutes into the game, one of S.E. Barbudovski:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 98 minutes into the match, Saturno's goalkeeper José Augusto Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Linhares. Gláuber Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 103rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. S.E. Barbudovski's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
