Eliézer Duarte started the match with the kick off. After having played for 7 minutes, Geovanni Trevisan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AMERICA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovanni Trevisan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caco Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Mota in the 10th minute of play. When Geovanni Trevisan came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the AMERICA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovanni Trevisan couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Criciúma E.C defense, Silvestre Gilabert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caco Valle. The Criciúma E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caco Valle should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute of the match Léo Arósio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Caco Valle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Caco Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Trevisan in the 25th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Geovanni Trevisan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caco Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 36 minutes into the match, Criciúma E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Trevisan came free, but Caco Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frédson Leme hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Caco Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Trevisan in the 44th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Noel Mota put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Caco Valle. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Geovanni Trevisan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Caco Valle having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Criciúma E.C's zone, Silvestre Gilabert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Valle came out of the goal and Silvestre Gilabert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Criciúma E.C's Caco Valle got control of the ball when Geovanni Trevisan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Noel Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Caco Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, AMERICA's Geovanni Trevisan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caco Valle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Noel Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caco Valle having to interfere. Caco Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noel Mota's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After a rather tough play, Criciúma E.C's Mateus Moreira got a free kick in the 70th minute. Noel Mota who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Caco Valle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Silvestre Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, Criciúma E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís Meira to maneuver through the defense. Noel Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvestre Gilabert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Caco Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Noel Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AMERICA played a much better game than Criciúma E.C and deserved their victory. The Criciúma E.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
