After a defensive mix-up in Thayus Clube de Futebol's zone, Noel Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Alvarenga came out of the goal and Noel Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noel Mota in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chicão Alvarenga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Thayus Clube de Futebol getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Zézinho Novaes hit a great ball. A collision led to AMERICA getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Noel Mota hit a great ball. Noel Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 27 minutes into the match, Thayus Clube de Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when 宋迪潮 came free, but Chicão Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, AMERICA's Dudu Breckenfeld made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chicão Alvarenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Charles Jacinto hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Noel Mota stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zézinho Novaes's late challenge caught a AMERICA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zézinho Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, Zézinho Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thayus Clube de Futebol's Chicão Alvarenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Thayus Clube de Futebol from getting a goal against them. Noel Mota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Chicão Alvarenga made a huge save. Agne Brogren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arí Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, AMERICA's Chicão Alvarenga threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dudu Breckenfeld, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 81 played minutes AMERICA got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Severo. In the 86thth minute of the game Noel Mota who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thayus Clube de Futebol's Chicão Alvarenga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Thayus Clube de Futebol getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Diamantino Quintal hit a great ball. Geovanni Trevisan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Chicão Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Noel Mota dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chicão Alvarenga, 1-3. When the match was over AMERICA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Thayus Clube de Futebol throughout the match.
