Elano Cabral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Augusto Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 37 minutes, Cristiano de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caricaca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano de Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Andreas Käller fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caricaca's protests and gave Andreas Käller a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Caricaca getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augusto Varela to strike the kick off in the second half. Elano Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Bittencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Renato de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a rather tough play, The Joker's Claudinho Andrade got a free kick in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Allan Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caricaca's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, The Joker's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Augusto Varela fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Frederico Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match.
