Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jailson Sergipano started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Carlos Alberto Sousa came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Esporte Clube de Carmo's Enio de Mendonça. But to his dismay, Enio de Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube de Carmo's Betão Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Alberto Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Jailson Sergipano notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of CR Independente's Carlos Alberto Sousa. Carlos Alberto Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Betão Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Carlos Alberto Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jailson Sergipano's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Jailson Sergipano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CR Independente's Carlos Alberto Sousa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aírton Nóbrega hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jailson Sergipano in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Alberto Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Sergipano in the 45th minute of play forced CR Independente's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Esporte Clube de Carmo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arlindo Valadares made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Jailson Sergipano made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Alberto Sousa. CR Independente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Jailson Sergipano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Alberto Sousa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Jailson Sergipano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Alberto Sousa was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Victor Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Arlindo Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Jailson Sergipano sped through CR Independente's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Alberto Sousa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Sergipano got free with Carlos Alberto Sousa in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute, Jailson Sergipano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carlos Alberto Sousa. The goal made the score 0-5. The crowd rose to their feet as Jailson Sergipano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Alberto Sousa. That made the score 0-7 in the 96 minute of play. The CR Independente fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Esporte Clube de Carmo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
