Spectators: 7248 (Terracing: 5437, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lúcio Peres got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Buturussu FC's Clemente Ceresso got control of the ball when João Augusto Coelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 5th minute, Lúcio Peres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geovânio de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 10th minute, Lúcio Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Moisés Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Caria SS's Clemente Ceresso threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joélson Antunes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Lúcio Peres came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Buturussu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Peres couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Buturussu FC booed when Caria SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Lúcio Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Caria SS's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Queirós came free, but Geovânio de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Buturussu FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Ronaldo Vinhas hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Caria SS's Alan Albuquerque tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lúcio Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio de Amaral having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joélson Antunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Buturussu FC were furious when Reginaldo Vander was red carded, 52 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 51st minute, one of Buturussu FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Buturussu FC. Alan Albuquerque shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 56 played minutes Buturussu FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Travassos. Buturussu FC's Clemente Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Antunes in the 57th minute of play. Clemente Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Buturussu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Aguiar came free, but Clemente Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Buturussu FC's Moisés Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moisés Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio de Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moisés Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the game, Caria SS's Joélson Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clemente Ceresso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 83rd minute, Juninho Moreno made a precise shot to the right of Clemente Ceresso. Buturussu FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Lúcio Peres who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Geovânio de Amaral when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 89 minutes into the match, Buturussu FC's Moisés Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geovânio de Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 90 played minutes Caria SS got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Aguiar. Buturussu FC's Clemente Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Antunes in the 92nd minute of play. Clemente Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Augusto Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute.
