Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Betinho Cerezo took the kick off in the first half of the match. Alessandro Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After 8 played minutes Canjica AD got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Cerezo. Germano Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Alessandro Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás de Medeiros succeeded in the game's 13th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Vivaldo Zanette was a little too slow when Betinho Cerezo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 2-1. If Maicon Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vivaldo Zanette was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Mário Prado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mário Prado really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Samuca Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuca Reis in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alessandro Cosme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the game, Guartela EC's Samuca Reis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alessandro Cosme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Canjica AD's Dráusio de Moraes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vivaldo Zanette. That made the score 4-2 after 40 minutes of play. A collision led to Guartela EC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Hudson Amaral hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuca Reis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Canjica AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the match, Betinho Cerezo notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Guartela EC's Vivaldo Zanette. Vivaldo Zanette was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 60 minutes into the match, Samuca Reis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alessandro Cosme. Canjica AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuca Reis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. In the 63rd minute, Guartela EC's Jairo Aguiar seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jairo Aguiar the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Guartela EC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jairo Aguiar had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 63rd minute, one of Guartela EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guartela EC. Guartela EC's Germano Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alessandro Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Maciel in the 73rd minute of the match. Alessandro Cosme came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Guartela EC's Leopoldo Teixeira. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-4. Vivaldo Zanette came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Canjica AD's Tomás de Medeiros. But to his dismay, Tomás de Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-4. Vivaldo Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. If Leopoldo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Mário Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 minutes, Leopoldo Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guartela EC and the Canjica AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Canjica AD booed when Guartela EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball.
