Segundo Torrecillas kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. A collision led to Piraguara SS getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Bruninho Leme hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edson Porto during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Piassabussu booed when Piraguara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Dinei Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Primeiro Torrecillas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piassabussu's supporters rose to their feet, but Primeiro Torrecillas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dênis Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Agostinho das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Bruninho Leme put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Eduardo Torrecillas. The Piraguara SS fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Piraguara SS's Bruninho Leme looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, Piraguara SS's Dênis Queirós got control of the ball when Isaltino Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruninho Leme made a kick off. In the 53rd minute José Maria Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Bruninho Leme put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Eduardo Torrecillas. The crowd rose to their feet as Bruninho Leme kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eduardo Torrecillas. That made the score 0-6 in the 59 minute of play. Piraguara SS made a substitution. Fred Rossi replaced Percival Matos. If Fred Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Primeiro Torrecillas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis Queirós having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Piraguara SS's Bruninho Leme ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eduardo Torrecillas. Eduardo Torrecillas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. After 86 played minutes Piraguara SS got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Diniz. Agostinho das Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Torrecillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agostinho das Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. Dênis Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Piraguara SS played a much better game than Piassabussu and deserved their victory. The Piassabussu players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
