André da Rocha started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute Toninho Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dudu Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 10 minutes, Gualter de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gualter de Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luisinho Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Flamengo SSA's Nando Vinhas got a free kick in the 19th minute. Instead of passing the ball, Anselmo Reis made a really hard long shot towards goal. Flamengo SSA's Túlio Santana realized he got lucky when he saw the ball passing the outside of the left post. Toninho Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toninho Valladares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If João Augusto Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Augusto Terra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Túlio Santana made a huge save. Gualter de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gualter de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Toninho Valladares made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute João Augusto Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If André da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dudu Matorin was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Toninho Valladares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Toninho Valladares really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. 73 minutes into the game, Heraclito AD's André da Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Túlio Santana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Túlio Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André da Rocha in the 76th minute of play. Dudu Matorin came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Flamengo SSA's Gualter de Andrade. But to his dismay, Gualter de Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gualter de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flamengo SSA's Túlio Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André da Rocha in the 93rd minute of play. João Augusto Terra struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Túlio Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heraclito AD. The Heraclito AD supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Flamengo SSA's performance. The match ended with a win for Flamengo SSA.
