When Naldo Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Riacho's protests and gave Naldo Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Clube Atlético Riacho getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Naldo Nunes hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Moreno got free with Fernandinho de Sousa in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jaime Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho de Sousa having to interfere. Edmundo Valle was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Jaime Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Riacho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Moreno to make the kick off. The supporters of Santatico F C booed when Clube Atlético Riacho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Moreno in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernandinho de Sousa saved Santatico F C from getting behind. After 77 played minutes Santatico F C got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo de Andrade. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Moreno in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernandinho de Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jaime Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Fernandinho de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernandinho de Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Moreno went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 92 minutes, Jaime Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Riacho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Clube Atlético Riacho were the better team. Clube Atlético Riacho's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
