The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilton Maranhense during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. André Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Inácio Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Valladares in the 38th minute of play.
