Coxilha FC's Vicente Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi Azevedo in the 23rd minute of play. After 31 played minutes Lorena got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Freire. Elder Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Vicente Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Faria came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Lorena's Elder Melo. But to his dismay, Elder Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Davi Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Lorena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davi Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ricardinho Gonçalves was the one to do the kick off. Vicente Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elder Melo in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute of the match Lorena got a corner. Coxilha FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geovani Ceresso ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Lorena's corner Geovani Ceresso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vicente Faria quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elder Melo got free with Vicente Faria in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yuri Falcão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coxilha FC. If Clóvis Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Lorena players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
