After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Jorge Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taguariaiva SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dé Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the game, Walmir Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 03 de Agosto de 2021's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taguariaiva SC the free kick. In the 18th minute, Walmir Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute of the match Cássio Lima sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dé Perez skillfully saved the ball. If Walmir Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmir Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Dionísio having to interfere. Alfredão Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Alfredão Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taguariaiva SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredão Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, 03 de Agosto de 2021's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Cavalcante came free, but Dé Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jorge Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Paulo Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 03 de Agosto de 2021's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Jorge Cavalcante scored to the left of an out of position Dé Perez, making the score, 1-1. When 03 de Agosto de 2021's Walmir Barros in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Taguariaiva SC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of 03 de Agosto de 2021 booed when Taguariaiva SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dé Perez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Cavalcante's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Giuseppe Arce hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Walmir Barros came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the 03 de Agosto de 2021 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Barros couldn't finish the play. If Alfredão Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to 03 de Agosto de 2021 getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Lucas Berger hit a great ball. Dé Perez was a little too slow when Jorge Cavalcante got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-2. Alfredão Bittencourt hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
