Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sidney Melo started the match with the kick off. After 2 minutes, Conrado Lucas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canalhas and the Costa players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Conrado Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdomiro Vinhas might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Paulo Sabóia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdomiro Vinhas ran back to his position shaking his head. João Paulo Sabóia made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Valdomiro Vinhas sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kauã Braga got free with João Paulo Sabóia in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, Costa's Sidney Melo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Paulo Sabóia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aílton Barreto took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Paulo Sabóia. João Paulo Sabóia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Kauã Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Canalhas's goal looked a bit too open when Sidney Melo came free, but João Paulo Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg João Paulo Sabóia managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Costa's Valdomiro Vinhas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Canalhas's João Paulo Sabóia got control of the ball when Kauã Braga tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute Aílton Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulo Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Paulo Sabóia made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Aílton Barreto sent off a good shot on target. If Ricardinho Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Paulo Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Vinhas in the 39th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles Hoffmann during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Canalhas's João Paulo Sabóia got control of the ball when Valdomiro Vinhas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bruno Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bruno Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Canalhas's goalkeeper João Paulo Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kauã Braga. In the 47th minute, Conrado Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaká de Godoi made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Bruninho Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Valdomiro Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Costa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdomiro Vinhas couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Canalhas's Bruno Mendonça got a free kick in the 57th minute. Costa's Kauã Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Isaltino Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Paulo Sabóia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Vinhas's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Kauã Braga scored 2-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Paulo Sabóia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Aílton Barreto sped through Canalhas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Paulo Sabóia. After a defensive mix-up in Canalhas's zone, Kauã Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Paulo Sabóia came out of the goal and Kauã Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aílton Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Paulo Sabóia having to make a save. Aílton Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reynaldo Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Sidney Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 84 minutes, Kauã Braga made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Canalhas's João Paulo Sabóia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Braga in the 88th minute of play forced Canalhas's goalkeeper João Paulo Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Aílton Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Paulo Sabóia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the match, Costa's Kauã Braga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Paulo Sabóia narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
