The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. PES United's Yuri Pena got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 6th minute, Diguinho Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yuri Pena scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vânderson Cunha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute Waldemar Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vânderson Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vânderson Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Igor Camargo's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. If Yuri Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, Pato F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléberson Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. Pato F.C's Waldemar Veloso got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Waldemar Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filipe Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Veloso in the 39th minute of play. After some careless play in the PES United defense, Luís Gustavo Vieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filipe Vasconcelos. The PES United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filipe Vasconcelos should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Waldemar Veloso was the one to do the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Igor Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot. PES United's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Camargo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vânderson Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Igor Camargo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Vânderson Cunha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Filipe Vasconcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldemar Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When Pato F.C's Waldemar Veloso in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
