Calango Feio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sanfogo the free kick. The supporters of Sanfogo booed when Calango Feio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvinho Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calango Feio's Fiori França proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Calango Feio from getting a goal against them. If Gino Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tales Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruninho Paraense having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Sanfogo's goal looked a bit too open when Tales Sena came free, but Bruninho Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flávio Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sanfogo's zone, Elias Arantes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruninho Paraense came out of the goal and Elias Arantes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Murillo Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Sanfogo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murillo Marinho couldn't finish the play. Gino Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Fiori França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fiori França made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gino Ramalho in the 36th minute. After 38 minutes, Teodoro Lopes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calango Feio and the Sanfogo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Calango Feio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Lopes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Calango Feio getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Elias Arantes hit a great ball. If Silvinho Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Bruninho Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murillo Marinho made a kick off. Tales Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Marquinhos Custódio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvinho Lopes struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Bruninho Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calango Feio. Murillo Marinho took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fiori França. Fiori França dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Murillo Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Calango Feio getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Tales Sena hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute Gino Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fiori França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Calango Feio's Silvinho Lopes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bruninho Paraense. That made the score 1-1 after 79 minutes of play. Silvinho Lopes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 84th playminute. Calango Feio's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
