After 3 minutes, Nico Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CHUTE NO SACO F.C. and the The Ducks Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Túlio Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Torres having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in The Ducks Sport Club's zone, José Paulo Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Torres came out of the goal and José Paulo Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Ducks Sport Club's Luís Fábio Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Fontes in the 14th minute of play. Luís Fábio Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo Fontes in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of CHUTE NO SACO F.C. booed when The Ducks Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Marcelo Hermes from long distance, 20 minutes into the match, got Luís Fábio Torres's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Nico Nascimento hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when The Ducks Sport Club's Washington Diniz fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Anselmo Velloso took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tadeu Aparecido. Tadeu Aparecido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Túlio Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes The Ducks Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by César Melo.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Túlio Passos was the one to do the kick off. Túlio Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Torres having to interfere. Túlio Passos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roberto Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Passos might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Túlio Passos ran back to his position shaking his head. When José Paulo Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the CHUTE NO SACO F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Paulo Fontes couldn't finish the play. If Túlio Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, CHUTE NO SACO F.C.'s Túlio Passos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fábio Torres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Luiz Fábio de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in The Ducks Sport Club's zone, Túlio Passos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Torres came out of the goal and Túlio Passos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Túlio Passos struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Luís Fábio Torres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CHUTE NO SACO F.C.. After 88 played minutes CHUTE NO SACO F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio de Souza. José Paulo Fontes hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Túlio Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CHUTE NO SACO F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Túlio Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The CHUTE NO SACO F.C. manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing The Ducks Sport Club to win.
