Gino Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Toledo having to interfere. After 8 minutes of play, Sanfogo's Gino Ramalho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enio Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 11 minutes into the match, Ivape's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Ramalho came free, but Enio Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gino Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flávio Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sanfogo getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Flávio Vidal hit a great ball. Tiago Gabriel Freitas's late challenge caught a Ivape's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Gabriel Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sanfogo's Tiago Gabriel Freitas got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Ivape's Osmar Macedo tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ivape's Walmir Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ivape getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Rony Donato hit a great ball. During the 40th minute of the match Flávio Vidal completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Flávio Vidal a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walmir Arruda made a kick off. Gino Ramalho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 51st minute. Sanfogo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Valle in the 53rd minute of play forced Sanfogo's goalkeeper Bruninho Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gino Ramalho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. Sanfogo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Walmir Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruninho Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Valle in the 79th minute of play. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ivape's goalkeeper Enio Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Sanfogo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
