After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Alfredão Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Digão SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredão Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Naldo Goiano fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C.Canastra Paulista's protests and gave Naldo Goiano a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Digão SC a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Germano Proença, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of S.C.Canastra Paulista's Betão Sá. 1-0. In the 16th minute, Digão SC's Alfredão Jacinto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Jerônimo Pimenta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Digão SC's Jerônimo Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Netto in the 22nd minute of play. Hélio Rosa's late challenge caught a Digão SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Rosa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, Hélio Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Joaquim Munhoz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Betão Sá, passed just outside the right post. Alfredão Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Betão Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélio Rosa was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 39th match minute, S.C.Canastra Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Alfredão Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquim Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Betão Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Joaquim Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betão Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Joaquim Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Betão Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Digão SC had played much better football throughout.
