Flávio Godoi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 31st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Germano Velloso. A collision led to Ventura EC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Luís Fernando Campidelis hit a great ball. Fabiano Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivo Neves made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Nildo Aparecido got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Carlinhos de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute.
