In the 44th minute, Tacare's Zé Pedro Dantas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivo Berger. Ivo Berger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Rafinha Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Egídio Vander to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivo Berger came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Tacare's Cícero da Fonseca. But to his dismay, Cícero da Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 58th minute, Cícero da Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute Egídio Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Pedro Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Zé Pedro Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maranhão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Ivo Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivo Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero da Fonseca in the 76th minute of play. Zé Pedro Dantas might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivo Berger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Pedro Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 86thth minute of the game Zé Pedro Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maranhão Futebol Clube's Ivo Berger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 93rd minute José Maria de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Maranhão Futebol Clube's Sandrinho Cunha threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Egídio Vander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Wesley Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
