Anderson do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Angelo Lopes took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabiano Zanette. Fabiano Zanette dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 29th minute Ivo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Formosa's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Lopes came free, but Fabiano Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Murillo Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jorge Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ivo Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murillo Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of THE PHOENIX booed when Formosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gláuber Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as THE PHOENIX's Angelo Lopes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabiano Zanette. That made the score 0-2 after 96 minutes of play. The Formosa fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. THE PHOENIX were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
