In the 61st minute, Ventura EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alfredão Jacinto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Germano Proença charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Alfredão Jacinto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Digão SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Flávio Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredão Jacinto in the 91st minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Joaquim Munhoz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Júlio Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aloísio Severo fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Digão SC's protests and gave Aloísio Severo a yellow card for diving instead. After 98 played minutes Digão SC got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Severo.
