Spectators: 7212 (Terracing: 5410, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 143) Victor Cardoso charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Cardoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of S.C.Canastra Paulista booed when Meriti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in S.C.Canastra Paulista's zone, Edgard Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betão Sá came out of the goal and Edgard Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Téo Rezende didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maurício Netto went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Eriberto Miranda hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Dino Urbano put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Betão Sá. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Amorim in the 22nd minute of play forced S.C.Canastra Paulista's goalkeeper Betão Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.C.Canastra Paulista's goalkeeper Betão Sá, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 27 minutes of play, Meriti's Edgard Amorim made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Betão Sá was left in no man's land by his defense there! 30 minutes into the match, Maurício Netto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Téo Rezende. Meriti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurício Netto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Cleiton Dracena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Betão Sá having to make a save. After 41 minutes, Dino Urbano made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. S.C.Canastra Paulista's Betão Sá tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes in the game, Frederico Carneiro fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Téo Rezende having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

Maurício Netto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Téo Rezende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Téo Rezende stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurício Netto's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Dino Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão Sá having to interfere. Meriti's Cleiton Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Meriti's Edgard Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Betão Sá narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dino Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute, Maurício Netto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Téo Rezende was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. When S.C.Canastra Paulista's Frederico Carneiro in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Meriti's goalie prevented a goal. If Dino Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franklin Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute Dino Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betão Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Urbano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Betão Sá when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Edgard Amorim scored 4-4 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Betão Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cleiton Dracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Meriti's Elias Cosme got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Dino Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meriti's supporters rose to their feet, but Dino Urbano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the last second Betão Sá throw himself and got hold of the ball when Dino Urbano in the 95thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Meriti players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
