Diamantino Machado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anderson Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute Angelo Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anderson Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Anderson do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored THE PHOENIX's protests and gave Anderson do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. Angelo Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anderson Vale having to interfere. A collision led to Crystalina getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Natã Pitta hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Lopes to strike the kick off in the second half. Diamantino Machado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Anderson Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to THE PHOENIX getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Anderson do Nascimento hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in THE PHOENIX's zone, Maurício Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Rocha came out of the goal and Maurício Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, Natã Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anderson Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Lopes in the 67th minute of play. Crystalina's Anderson Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Crystalina from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute, Benê Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, THE PHOENIX's Carlos Fernando Galvão tried to score from far away in the 72nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Crystalina's Elói Arósio got a free kick in the 75th minute. Carlos Fernando Galvão, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Diamantino Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anderson Vale having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, THE PHOENIX's Diamantino Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anderson Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 90 minutes into the match, Angelo Lopes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anderson Vale, 0-2.
