The referee ignored GuaruIbis F.C's protests and gave Mário Alves a yellow card for diving instead. Mário Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Jaime Tande took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Saldanha. Ricardo Saldanha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 22nd match minute, Elesbao AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Souto to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, GuaruIbis F.C's Dino Queiroz tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ediberto Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 28th match minute, GuaruIbis F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes Elesbao AD got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Urbano. In the 34thth minute of the game Ediberto Lira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elesbao AD's Valdomiro do Nascimento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Narciso Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ricardo Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciro Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. In the 60th minute, Mário Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 62 minutes, Ciro Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elesbao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Cardozo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 71 minutes into the game, one of GuaruIbis F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jaime Tande walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Narciso Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Ricardo Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. GuaruIbis F.C's Guilherme Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ciro Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ediberto Lira hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Ciro Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Saldanha having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Cardozo got free with Ricardo Saldanha in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ediberto Lira during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th match minute, GuaruIbis F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto Lira to maneuver through the defense. Elesbao AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Tande in the 98th minute. When the final whistle sounded Elesbao AD left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than GuaruIbis F.C.
