Kléber Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jarbas Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The goalkeeper, Jarbas Branco, was totally fooled by Galatius's Alessandro Barros, who 16 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 23 played minutes Boston Garden got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Meireles. After some careless play in the Galatius defense, João Augusto Terra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis Moura. The Galatius fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Moura should have stopped the shot. Régis Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Terra in the 31st minute of play. Boston Garden's Edmílson Meireles got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Kléber Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléber Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Branco having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléber Novaes in the 44th minute of play forced Boston Garden's goalkeeper Jarbas Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kléber Novaes to strike the kick off in the second half. If Kléber Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boston Garden's João Augusto Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Galatius's Kléber Novaes in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boston Garden's goalie prevented a goal. Ademar de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jarbas Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64thth minute of the game Kléber Novaes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boston Garden's Jarbas Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kléber Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Jarbas Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kléber Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Galatius fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléber Novaes couldn't finish the play. Kléber Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jarbas Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Kléber Novaes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jarbas Branco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jarbas Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval da Mata in the 84th minute of play. Kléber Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Jarbas Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ademar de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Galatius walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
