Antônio Pires ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Marcinho Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barreirinha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcinho Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iuri Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Telmo Correia in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iuri Pinheiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute Marcinho Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dourados Futebol Clube were furious when Nildo Carioca was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dourados Futebol Clube! In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Barreirinha FC. Carlos Alberto de Salles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Iuri Pinheiro. 0-1. Iuri Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Correia in the 22nd minute of the match. Cleiton Lopes hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Iuri Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Telmo Correia came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Barreirinha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Telmo Correia couldn't finish the play. When Barreirinha FC's Marcinho Toscano in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Iuri Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Correia in the 42nd minute of play. When the match clock showed 48 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Telmo Correia sped through Dourados Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iuri Pinheiro. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cleiton Lopes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcinho Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 59 minutes, Diego Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barreirinha FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Telmo Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Iuri Pinheiro made a huge save. When Telmo Correia got free in front of the goal in the 66th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Iuri Pinheiro was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Iuri Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcinho Toscano in the 73rd minute of play. Diego Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Iuri Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barreirinha FC. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
