Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) In the 6thth minute of the game Orlando Neiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cachos's Edgar Loureiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Doriva Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Orlando Neiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Loureiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a rather tough play, Merity's Eurico Sampaio got a free kick in the 24th minute. A collision led to Merity getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Álvaro Lima hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Sampaio in the 32nd minute of play forced Cachos's goalkeeper Edgar Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Doriva Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachos's supporters rose to their feet, but Doriva Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualter da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Merity getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Eurico Sampaio hit a great ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rubens Neto made a kick off. The supporters of Merity booed when Cachos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Cícero Soeiro from long distance, 98 minutes into the match, got Edgar Loureiro's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Merity's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
