In the 10th match minute, Dourados Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton Lopes to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Luz in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iuri Pinheiro saved Dourados Futebol Clube from getting behind. Dourados Futebol Clube's Iuri Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aloísio Luz in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Dourados Futebol Clube booed when Jacu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The attack was good, but when Aloísio Luz in the 22nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Luz in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iuri Pinheiro saved Dourados Futebol Clube from getting behind. Aloísio Luz scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iuri Pinheiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Dourados Futebol Clube's zone, Eusébio Barral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iuri Pinheiro came out of the goal and Eusébio Barral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the game, Rômulo Maia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dourados Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jacu the free kick. Hélder Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mané Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Aloísio Luz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aloísio Luz got free with Iuri Pinheiro in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rômulo Maia got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Dourados Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rômulo Maia hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute Mané Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Luz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iuri Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Jacu's Aloísio Luz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The attack was good, but when Aloísio Luz in the 90th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Iuri Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Meirelles in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th minute Mané Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zé Roberto Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
