During the 11th minute of the match Gláuber Pimenta completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gláuber Pimenta a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gláuber Pimenta hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Giovani Penha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eriberto Sousa in the 41st minute. Eriberto Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giovani Penha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fabiano Correia went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
